These terms apply to the use of coachgear.my and to every quotation issued and commission accepted by Coachgear Furniture Sdn Bhd (Company Reg. No. 202201021837 (1462950-M)). Placing a deposit on a quotation constitutes acceptance of these terms. They are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
1. Quotations
Written quotations are fixed for 30 days from the date of issue. A quotation describes the piece by dimensions, timber, finish, fabric and hardware; anything not listed is not included. Verbal estimates given on the showfloor or by phone are indicative only until confirmed in writing.
2. Deposits and payment
Residential commissions require a 50% deposit to confirm the production slot; the balance is payable after inspection, at handover. Commercial fit-outs follow the payment schedule stated in the quotation (typically 40% deposit, 40% at factory inspection, 20% on completed installation). Title to a piece passes on full payment.
3. Design approval and changes
Production begins only after you approve the dimensioned drawing and samples. Changes requested after approval may affect price and delivery date; we will confirm both in writing before proceeding. Changes requested after cutting has begun are quoted as additional work.
4. Natural materials
Timber is a natural product. Grain pattern, knots and colour vary between boards and will differ from samples and photographs; this variation is a characteristic, not a defect. Timber tone also deepens or lightens with age and light exposure. Fabric batches may vary slightly from swatches; we order fresh cuttings for confirmation where colour is critical.
5. Delivery and installation
Delivery windows are stated in the quotation and confirmed one week ahead. You are responsible for confirming that pieces can access the premises (lifts, stairwells, doorways) based on the dimensions we provide; our note on access in the quotation is part of the specification. Delivery within 30km of Muar is free; elsewhere, charges appear as a line item in the quotation. Risk passes on delivery.
6. Storage
Completed pieces are held free of charge for 14 days after we notify you they are ready. Thereafter we may charge storage at RM 15 per piece per day, or deliver to the address on the quotation.
7. Warranty
Structural elements (frames, joinery, bases) are warranted for 5 years and upholstery workmanship for 2 years from delivery, against defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic or specified commercial use. The warranty excludes fair wear, fading from sunlight, damage from moisture ingress or pests, misuse, and alterations by others. 8. Website content
Text, photographs and drawings on coachgear.my are the property of Coachgear Furniture Sdn Bhd and may not be reproduced commercially without written permission. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate but do not warrant that the website is error-free or uninterrupted.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act 1999. Otherwise, our aggregate liability in connection with a commission is limited to the price paid for that commission, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Disputes
Tell us first — most issues are resolved with a site visit and honest conversation. Failing that, disputes fall under the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. Consumers may also refer eligible claims to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia.
